The museum is dedicated to the two-century history of the emergence, establishment and development of Kazan University - from imperial to federal. The main section of the exposition tells about scientific schools, outstanding researchers and discoveries that made Kazan University and its scientists world famous. Much attention is paid to famous students and graduates of the university. Among them are S.T. Aksakov, N.I. Lobachevsky, I.M. Simonov, A.M. Butlerov, L.N. Tolstoy, V.I. Ulyanov-Lenin, E.K. Zavoysky, A.E. Arbuzov and others. In addition to the main exposition, the museum includes a memorial complex: the Imperial Hall and the lecture room of the Faculty of Law with the interior of the late 19th-early 20th centuries, where students L. Tolstoy, V. Ulyanov and others listened to lectures.
