Walking excursion along the Old Tatar settlement

Excursion on the Old Tatar settlement is an opportunity to see Kazan of 18-19 centuries. Each house symbolizes the memory of outstanding representatives of Tatar history and people. Preserved merchant mansions and manors show how rich Tatar families lived, how they decorated their homes with bright colors – a true Tatar flavor. Families living in this area were mostly well-off and were respected not only in Tatarstan. You will have a look at old Kazan mosques located in the Old Tatar settlement: Marjani, Apanaevskaya, Sennaya. Each of these mosques has its own interesting history. You will also learn what namaz is, how to visit a mosque correctly, what a beautiful ceremony nikah is and other traditions of Islamic culture. During the excursion you will visit Museum of tea. The museum is located in the old house of the Tatar dynasty of merchants Kushaev in the Old Tatar settlement.There you will see unique collection of tableware and tea utensils, local and metropolitan merchant interiors, ceremonial attributes of various tea traditions (China, Japan, England, Russia). The tour will end with a tea ceremony with the national delicacy chak-chak.
